D.M. HOUSE

RESIDENTIAL HOUSE  [2007]

LAGOA SANTA | BRAZIL

Conception, project management, architecture and interior design development, detailing, dealing directly with clients and site management.

Amidst a colonial heritage and modern architecture, a new district, lagoa santa,  started to develop just 30km from the capital city of Belo Horizonte.

The client wanted to built a weekend house to rest and invite friends.the building goes trough the terrain into a small declination, establishing a dialogue between two traditional materials found in listed colonial buildings in this region: brick and wood but with a contemporary approach.

This housing consists of a low cost construction, using local techniques: ceramic brick with  white stucco, clay tiles and wooden detailing for the roof. The house’s plan consists of a Living room, kitchen, T.V. room, three bedrooms  bathrooms and a large balcony overlooking the landscaped garden.
